Qatari Deputy PM and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Khaled Al-Atiyyah is reported to have agreed with US Defence Secretary James Mattis during their meeting in Washington recently to establish a new Qatari naval base within the US-controlled Al-Udeid airbase.
