Saudi Aramco, SAMI and counter-drone technologiesnote

Saudi Aramco oil facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais were attacked on Saturday (14/9/2019). This resulted in Saudi Arabia reducing its oil production by almost half per day (5.7 million barrels).

Yemeni Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attack, but the U.S. is blaming Iran of being behind it.

The attacks on Aramco facilities are expected to speed up a Saudi project to purchase counter-drone radars, while Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) Ahmad Al-Khateeb is looking into the possibility of transferring the counter-drone technologies to the Kingdom.

Tactical Report has prepared a 336-word report to shed more light on the subject and tell what about the radar that SAMI is most interested in.
