Qatar, Italy and protection of strategic infrastructurenote

The Italian ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs are said to be currently seeking to benefit from Qatar's need to acquire defense systems for the protection of energy infrastructure as well as infrastructure related to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

This comes amid talk that Qatari Emir Tamim and Italian Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini have discussed possible cooperation between Qatar and Italy in this regard during their meeting last month (11/11/20) in Doha.
