Iraq’s Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee called on Saturday 15/5/21 for an increase in the Iraqi Ministry of Defense’s budget, in order to acquire advanced air defense systems.
Deputy Chairman of Iraq’s Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee Nayef Al-Shammari also confirmed the Iraqi government’s plans to provide Iraq with air defense systems during the coming months.
The Committee’s calls are said to have reignited the ongoing differences between Baghdad and Washington over the suppliers from which these systems will be acquired.
Tactical Report has prepared a 332-word report to shed more light on this subject.
