Saudi King Salman is said to have insisted during meetings with senior members of the ruling Al Saud family on his son Crown Prince Mohammad’s primary role in managing Saudi Arabia's strategic files.

Meanwhile, there is talk that King Salman is no longer overseeing these files, and that this represents a gradual transfer of power in favor of Crown Prince Mohammad.
