Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and Defense Minister Khaled Al-Attiyahheld a virtual meeting yesterday (29/8/21) with their Turkish counterparts Mevlut Cavusoglu and Hulusi Akarrespectively, to discuss the recent developments in Afghanistan.
This meeting came after the Taliban reportedly asked both Qatar and Turkey for technical assistance in operating Kabul airport.
There is talk that several other virtual and direct meetings will be held next month between Qatari and Turkish officials to cooperate on rehabilitating strategic facilities in Afghanistan, especially Kabul airport.
