Qatar is preparing for the annual meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) summit meeting next week (20-22, 2022) in Doha.
Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs and Qatar Energy CEO Saad Al-Kaabi is said to have the intention to seize the occasion to hold meetings with Russian officials over the possibility of Qatar increasing its liquified natural gas (LNG) exports to Europe.
Note that Russia supplies 40 percent of Europe’s natural gas while Qatar supplies 5 percent only.
