Qatar to sign additional EU long-term LNG contracts despite U.S. competitionnote

Qatar Energy (QE) signed last Tuesday (29/11/2022) two SPAs with U.S. company ConocoPhillips (COP) to supply Germany with approximately 2 million tons per annum (mtpa) of LNG for a 15-year period, starting in 2026.

QE CEO Saad Al-Kaabi indicates that Qatar has started negotiations with several other EU countries for the supply of long-term LNG contracts.

Tactical Report has a prepared 381-word report to shed light on Al-Kaabi’s views on the competition with U.S. LNG, as well as the details behind the ongoing negotiations with potential EU buyers.
