Saudi Arabia signed last Wednesday (30/11/2022) a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Spanish shipbuilder Navantia to build multi-mission surface combatants (MMSCs) in favor of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF).
The deal is reported to be the next phase of strategic partnerships between the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), the RSNF, and Navantia, and a continuation of the “Sarawat Project”.
The deal is expected to improve the RSNF’s capacity to protect shipping lanes and the Saudi maritime economic zone.
Tactical Report has prepared a 428-word report to shed more light on this new Saudi-Spanish military naval deal.
