The Saudi Ministry of Defense is working on reactivating a number of programs related to developing the capabilities of the Royal Saudi Land Forces (RSLF).
This is rumored to have been prompted by U.S. and European recommendations to acquire advanced systems to effectively counter chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats.

- A special program under review by the RSLF command aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the RSLF in countering CBRN threats
- The role that the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) in reaching out to foreign defense companies specialized in countering CBRN threats
