The French Minister of the Armed Forces Sebastien Lecornu visited Baghdad earlier this month (18/7/2023). During his visit, he met with the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani and the Minister of Defense Thabet Mohammad Al-Abbasi.
Lecornu delivered the French point of view regarding the Rafale fighter file and the obstacles halting the deal.
