U.S. President Donald Trump picked Secretary of the US Army Mark Esper on 18/06/19 to take over as Defense Secretary in place of Patrick Shanahan.
Esper is a former US infantry veteran and Raytheon Vice-President.
This somehow signals a “business as usual” approach by the Trump administration with
regards to arms sales to the Arab Gulf states, notably Saudi Arabia.
