Saudi Arabia, Italy: UAV technology and knowledge transfernote

Despite Italy’s decision last month (29/1/21) to block the sale of thousands of missiles to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, there is talk that this announcement has not and will not impact the long-standing relationship shared by Saudi Arabia and Italy.

The ban only applies to missiles and precision-guided munitions (PGMs), and does not directly affect joint research and development, which is said to include the transfer of drone technology and knowledge.
