UAE: EDGE and airborne laser weapon systems [Update No. 1]note

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan is said to be taking an active interest in upcoming talks between Emirati defense company EDGE Group and international defense companies for the possible procurement and manufacture of airborne laser weapons systems (LWS).

In this regard, there is talk that Sheikh Mohammad’s goal is the conclusion of two major joint ventures (JVs) between EDGE and other defense companies for various laser solutions.
