Iraq: The U.S.A. banning fighters deals after anti-Israel law?note

The Iraqi parliament passed on 25/5/2022 the “Criminalizing Normalization and Establishment of Relations with the Zionist Entity” law.

The law makes it a crime to normalize ties with Israel, and violations of the law can be punishable by a death sentence or life imprisonment.

The U.S. Department of State is reported to have urged Baghdad to revoke the law, or all talks related to Iraq acquiring any modern fighters will be ceased.

The State Department is said to have also intervened to suspend talks between Iraq and several American and European defense companies.

Tactical Report has prepared a 305-word report to shed more light on the subject.
