An Emiri Decree was issued on 1/9/2022, placing the Kuwait International Airport and the country’s civil aviation sector under the supervision of the Ministry of Defense.
This entails that the Kuwaiti Defense Ministry will now be in charge of overseeing the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The transfer of DGCA to the Kuwaiti Defense Ministry is reported to be related to establishing new projects for the protection of civil aviation facilities.
However, other considerations related to the fight against corruption are reportedly not ruled out.
Tactical Report has prepared a 385-word report to shed more light on the subject.
