A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on 20/6/2022 between the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and Chevron Corporation to cooperate on projects including the transport, import, and liquefaction of gas from the East Mediterranean.
The MoU also includes sending gas from Chevron’s regional assets to Egypt for domestic and international liquified natural gas (LNG) markets.
Reports from Cairo suggest that work on the MoU has already begun.
It is believed that with Chevron's help, Egypt is planning to export piped gas to Europe, along with LNG.
Chevron is considering other regional gas monetization opportunities, including floating LNG (FLNG) technology.
Tactical Report has prepared a 342-word (1 page) report to shed light on the plans of Chevron and Egypt to achieve this milestone.
