Qatari Emir Tamim gathered Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan into a meeting where both leaders shook hands for the first time since President El-Sisi became assumed power in 2014.
After the meeting, the Egyptian Presidency issued a statement in which it described the handshake as a starting point to develop bilateral relations with Ankara.
Turkey and Egypt are reportedly set to hold high-level meetings.
