Saudi Arabia and Iran agreed on Friday (10/3/2023) to restore ties and reopen embassies seven years after relations were severed.
On the basis of this agreement, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian should meet in the coming two weeks to discuss the roadmap for implementing the agreement.
It is said that the agreement could not be reached without Saudi demands and Iranian pledges, and in particular without Chinese guarantees.
