Amid efforts to follow up on the implementation of the Beijing agreement, recent statements of Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani surprised Riyadh.
Rear Admiral Irani announced last Friday (2/6/2023) that Iran will form a joint naval alliance with several countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Iraq.
This announcement did not sit well with the Kingdom.
