UAE President Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is putting efforts to enhance the capabilities of the UAE-Air Force and Air Defense (UAE-AFAD).
The UAE is working to update its inventory of very short-range air defense (VSHORAD) by procuring man-portable air defense missile systems (MANPADS).
In this regard, the UAE is expected to sign a contract with the Swedish defense company Saab.
