Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met on 19/7/2023 with Emirati President Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan during an official visit to the UAE.
During the visit, memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed to advance bilateral defense cooperation, especially in land and naval unmanned systems as well as air defense systems.

- The establishment of a joint defense body between the two countries
