UAE-Israel defense relations since the Abraham Accords: Joint projects and arms salesin-depth

The Abraham Accords, signed in September 2020, marked a historic turning point in the Middle East, leading to the normalization of relations between the UAE and Israel. Since then, the defense industries of both nations have been collaborating on various projects to codevelop defense technology and improve their mutual national security.

UAE defense conglomerate EDGE Group and procurement agency Tawazun Economic Council have been spearheading efforts for Abu Dhabi. From the Israeli side, major companies such as the Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI), Rafael, and Elbit Systems are the most active, having already opened offices in the UAE.

The increasingly strategic Emirati-Israeli defense ties are proving to be a genuine win-win situation. While most Emirati-Israeli projects are largely obfuscated in secrecy, our sources have obtained information on some ongoing work.

Tactical Report has prepared an extensive report to shed more light on these joint projects, including:

- C-UAS co-development

- Ongoing talks for air defense procurement

- USV co-development

- Cruise missile acquisition
