The United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed to purchase 80 Rafale fighter aircraft from French defense giant Dassault on December 3, 2021. Dassault CEO Eric Trappier and the Chairman and CEO of Tawazun Economic Council Tareq Abdulraheem Al Hosani ratified the contract during French President Macron’s visit to Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheik Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. Estimated at 16EUR billion, the Rafale sale is the largest contract ever obtained by the French combat aeronautics industry.
